New Mutant Movies: Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Disney Plus

For some time, the film New Mutants has been floating in the air like a helium-filled beach ball, unable to land on an actual release date. However, new gossip has surfaced about a possible new home and release date for the X-Men Universe film.

But should you, the faithful, be excited with anticipation? We are taking a very close look to see what seems likely and what seems fake.

There are many reasons why "New Mutants" is getting a lot of hype (the many release dates being one of them), but the main reason for excitement is that this will be Disney's first official chance to use the word mutant, and when using characters like Scarlet Witch could be an opportunity to bring the X-Men into the MCU, rather than dodging all references to them in [Unfortunately, the release date for "New Mutants" does not appear to be September 4, and the fan-made trailer that claims it will be released on Disney Plus on that date is not official at all. The news comes from Disney itself, via CBR.

For fans eagerly awaiting "New Mutants," there is reason to disbelieve any release date that is offered. The film has had five release dates so far: April 13, 2018; February 22, 2019; August 2, 2019; April 3, 2020; and August 28, 2020. The film has been postponed for various reasons, including reshoots and Fox's acquisition by Disney.

At the time of this writing, the August 28 date does not seem likely, as it is unlikely that theaters will reopen anytime soon. Therefore, a new release date (or a VOD/Disney Plus release date) may be announced at Comic-Con at Home this weekend.

The official trailer for The New Mutants shows a group of troubled youths, each with special powers, welcoming a new friend: lahn Sinclair (Maisie Williams). Then, as in a new student orientation, tests are run, students share, and stranger things happen.

"New Mutants" is the first major film role for "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams, who is joined by a familiar face in the former Arya Stark. Aniya Taylor-Joy ("Emma") and Charlie Heaton ("Stranger Things") add familiar faces to "New Mutants."

As noted earlier, "New Mutants" is rumored to be coming to Disney Plus. Given Disney's denials above, that seems unlikely, but we would not be surprised if it does indeed happen.

Disney Plus is in need of new Marvel-related content, as "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," which was supposed to be released in August 2020, has been delayed and no release date has been set.
