The OnePlus Nord debuts in a week, but you don't have to wait that long to get a decent look at the phone: ahead of the OnePlus Nord's AR-centric reveal event on July 21, an informative YouTube video offers a look at the upcoming device.

The video is by tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee and shows off the final version of the OnePlus Nord; OnePlus provided Brownlee with an early look as part of an effort to be more transparent about its smartphone pricing and plans, Brownlee has been in discussions with OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei himself.

In this longer video, it is clear that the Nord closely resembles the OnePlus 8, which launched earlier this spring. In fact, OnePlus' flagship model is almost identical to the company's upcoming budget smartphone, with rounded edges, a vertical camera strip in the upper left instead of the center, and a glossy finish.

At least in this video, it appears to be available in two colors: navy blue and light blue. Light blue is a gorgeous color, not often seen in the world of black and silver smartphones. Also visible on the bottom of the OnePlus Nord is a USB-C charging port and an area for a SIM.

Flipping the phone over reveals a cutout in the upper left corner of the display that reveals a dual selfie camera with lenses side by side. The phone also appears to have a bezel of reasonable size, which is slightly visible in the close-up image Brownlee provided in the video.

Interestingly, Nord did a major overhaul quite late in its life cycle, "really late" according to Pei. It had to be delayed by a month to be consistent with the rest of the OnePlus lineup; Pei noted that initially the OnePlus would have had a different camera arrangement (perhaps L-shaped) as well as a different look.

Later in the video, Pei was wearing matching OnePlus Buds in the same teal color as the Nord itself, but there was no additional information about these wireless earbuds; OnePlus announced the OnePlus Buds earlier today (July 14), but it is not clear if the OnePlus Buds will be available in the next week. More details on the OnePlus Buds will be announced during the official launch of the Nord AR next week. We expect the OnePlus Buds to go head-to-head with Apple's AirPods, but pricing for the new earphones is unknown at this time.

The full unveiling of the OnePlus Nord is set for July 21. The phone will sell for under $500 and will feature full 5G support, an OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a Snapdragon 765G processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4,300mAh battery. It is sure to be an impressive purchase for those who want to take advantage of 5G connectivity on the cheap.
