The first 10 5G phones on OnePlus Nord will be free — here's how to get 1

The OnePlus Nord may win in a competition held by OnePlus. However, it is not just any Nord, but one of the first 10 to be manufactured.

OnePlus' official Twitter account will announce the competition and 10 winners will receive a Nord phone.

To enter, "like" the OnePlus post and retweet it, fill out an entry form that prompts you to follow Nord's Instagram account, and tag two friends in the comments of the contest announcement post. They must also download the Nord AR launch app and share their customized avatar on Instagram or Twitter. Doing so will increase your entry into the drawing for the name.

Entries can be made anytime between now and 6 p.m. CEST on July 20 (5 p.m. UK time, 12 p.m. Eastern time, 5 a.m. Pacific time). You may also need to pay for shipping of your new Nord, as OnePlus will not cover "costs related to prize pickup."

Also, if you are not following OnePlus Nord on Instagram, you risk invalidating your entry.OnePlus also controls all submissions you make in an attempt to win an entry to the contest and reserves the right to reject any submission with questionable content contests.

The Contest is open to "all individuals residing in the areas served by oneplus.net." This means, in theory, that U.S. users could get the Nord even though OnePlus does not sell the phone in the U.S. at launch.

If you want to pre-order the Nord normally, your next chance is tomorrow (July 15). This will be the third pre-order offer from OnePlus, the first and second being for 100 and 900 units, respectively, which sold out quickly.

But why would you want the Nord in the first place, OnePlus will probably do its best to convince you at the AR launch on July 21, but the specs alone have us excited: under $500, dual front cameras, quad rear cameras, 5G connectivity, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage, you get a 6.4-inch phone that looks like a great deal compared to other mid-range phones like the iPhone SE (2020) and Pixel 3a.
