Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leak reveals design, camera and more

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will feature a larger, rounder design than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 10, but its display may be lackluster by 2020 standards.

This is according to new renderings tweeted by trusted tech leaker Ice Universe, who posted images of what he claims is the Note 20 alongside the Note 10. The leaker also posted images of the front and back of the Galaxy Note 20, further giving insight into the phone's rear camera.

The first image shows the Note 20 from the front and back. It is claimed to be the standard model of the Note 20, as opposed to the higher-spec Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, as it has only three camera lenses instead of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra's four.

Aside from this, we can see that the back of the phone is slightly curved, the corners are square compared to the Galaxy S20 series, and the center punch hole selfie camera that has become Samsung's signature since last year.

At the bottom of the display we can find an icon for a sub-display fingerprint scanner. This is most likely Samsung's ultrasonic reader, rather than the typical optical reader used by most other smartphones, such as the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The following tweet compares this rendered image of the Note 20 with the Galaxy Note 10: "Ice Universe explains that the Note 20 is 1 cm (0.4 inches) longer than the Note 10, whereas the Note 10's screen is slightly curved, It has a flat screen. It also shows that the punch hole for the selfie camera has shrunk significantly between generations.

Ice Universe claims that the Note 20 will feature a 1080p display with a 60Hz refresh rate; not only does the 1080p resolution seem a bit underpowered compared to many QHD flagship displays, but also Samsung This is definitely a bit disappointing, as it doesn't even have the 120Hz refresh rate showcased on the entire Galaxy S20 series; a 120Hz display will likely be reserved for the Note 20 Ultra. Hopefully, this means a lower price for the standard Galaxy Note 20.

The last Ice Universe tweet shows the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra camera sizes through what looks like a protective cover for the lens. As noted above, the Note 20 will have three cameras (12MP main, 64MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide), while the Note 20 Ultra will likely have four cameras (108MP main, 13MP telephoto, 12MP ultrawide, and laser focus sensor). There is also a significant difference in the size of the lens holes, likely to capture the extra light needed by the Note 20 Ultra to take 108MP photos.

Samsung plans to reveal more details about the remaining Note 20 at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for August 5. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Watch 3 may also be seen in the same announcement.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Fold 2 may be delayed until next month or only briefly mentioned in the keynote based on recent leaks pointing out that it is not yet ready for sale.

Other than what we have discussed so far, the Note 20 series will be one of the most powerful Android phones ever, with a Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 512GB storage in the Note 20 Ultra, In addition, it will also support 5G.
