iPhone12 specification leak Reveals that Apple doesn't want you to know

RAM specs for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have been leaked. This is information that Apple would never list in the technical specs, but if true, 6GB would be the most RAM in iPhone history.

The claim, which confirms previous rumors, comes from established Twitter leaker l0vetodream. Tweeting in his trademark cryptic style, l0vetodream issued the following statement.

Fortunately, if you follow iPhone 12 rumors and leaks closely, you'll soon find out.

If you're not convinced by the bizarre tweet, another leaker, Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech, also weighs in on the claim.

For comparison with current iPhones, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max all use 4GB, while the budget iPhone SE (2020) uses 3GB. In other words, the standard iPhone 12 does not have more memory, but the two iPhone 12 Pro models have 50% more, which proves useful when running multiple performance-oriented apps.

It is possible that there is some confusion as to why these numbers are so small. iPhones are not sold by the amount of RAM they have. In fact, Apple never releases official numbers on how much RAM is in each iPhone model, but rather breaks the phone down in an unofficial teardown to see the size of the RAM chips installed.

6GB RAM is considerably less than the 12GB found in many flagship Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S20 series and OnePlus 8 Pro, but it will not hinder the iPhone 12's performance. Apple is instead focusing on making its chipset more powerful than the equivalent Snapdragon 8 series chips used by OnePlus, Samsung, and others. iPhone 12 series will use the latest A14 Bionic chip designed by Apple expected to continue this trend.

Improved performance in the latest smartphone models is always a good thing. But there are other reasons to keep an eye on the iPhone 12 announcement, which is expected to take place in September or October of this year. It will be available in four versions, ranging in size from 5.4" to 6.7", with an OLED display and 5G connectivity.

The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are particularly interesting as they may feature the first 120Hz display on an iPhone. They will also build on the iPhone 11 Pro's great triple camera and add a LiDAR depth sensor for even better photographic effects and to make AR applications work more effectively.
