Samsung Galaxy Tab S7Plus Specs Leak - and it's a killer iPad Pro rival

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus are expected to be announced at Samsung's big Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. And a new leak has revealed specs for the larger Tab S7 Plus, including 5G connectivity.

According to SamMobile, which reported the specs, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus will feature a 12.4-inch AMOED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels. This would be approximately 266 ppi. The iPad Pro with a larger 12.9" panel has a ppi of 264.

The Galaxy Tab S7 Plus will also support 5G connectivity below 6GHz. Therefore, AT&T and T-Mobile/Sprint should be able to expect fairly good speeds and fairly long range. However, because it does not support mmWave, the Tab S7 Plus cannot use Verizon's 5G network.

Samsung's larger tablet will be powered by Qualcomm's recently announced Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, which SamMobile says will be paired with 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage. [How long will the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus take to charge? If the 10,090 mAh battery in this spec leak is true, we expect good things: the iPad Pro 12.9 has a 10,877 mAh battery that lasted over 10 hours in a custom web surfing test.

SamMobile claims that the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus does not offer fast charging, but a new report from GSM Arena confirms that the tablet supports 45W charging. This is based on a listing in a Danish certification database.

While the iPad Pro has Face ID for login, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus should have a fingerprint sensor in the display. It also has dual 12MP and 5MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera.

Finally, the S Pen will have built-in Bluetooth and can be used as a remote control; given the Unpacked 2020 event invitation highlighting the S Pen, other new S Pen features are also expected. For example, we know that the Galaxy Note 20 will have the ability to utilize the S Pen as a virtual laser pointer.

Overall, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus specs look promising, but we will have to wait and see how the tablet looks once everything is confirmed on August 5. In the meantime, check out the Galaxy Tab S7 hub for all the latest news and leaks.
