We won't have to wait much longer to see what Samsung has planned for the Galaxy Note 20. The electronics giant has scheduled its next big product event for August 5, where we will almost certainly learn about the new phablet along with other Samsung phones.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. It will be streamed on Samsung's website.

Samsung has not officially confirmed that the Galaxy Note 20 will be the star of the August 5 event, stating only that when it announced the August 5 get-together, it would "explore the latest ecosystem of Galaxy devices designed to empower your life." It was. However, with leaked information about the upcoming phablet coming in thick and fast, it wouldn't be too much of a leap of logic to conclude that the Note 20 will be the star of the show.

Recent Galaxy Note launches have also taken place in August, further suggesting that the August 5 show will focus on a new phablet.

According to the latest Galaxy Note 20 rumors, Samsung's new phablet is expected to come in two versions: the standard 6.4-inch Note 20 and the 6.9-inch Note 20 Ultra. The two phablets will likely use the camera setup that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S20, and both models will undoubtedly work on 5G networks.

Samsung watchers expect to see more than the Galaxy Note 20 at Samsung's next Unpacked event. The event could also introduce a follow-up to the Galaxy Fold, which Samsung is rumored to be calling the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Samsung's other foldable Galaxy Z Flip could appear as a 5G-enabled version.

In addition to the phone, there are rumors of a new Samsung tablet, the Galaxy Tab S7, and the Galaxy Watch 3, but a smartwatch could appear prior to Samsung's August 5 event.

Samsung may announce new products on August 5, but we may not actually get the new devices until a little later. There is usually a two- to three-week gap between an Unpacked event and the products announced there hitting store shelves. Most rumors have the Galaxy Note 20 shipping on August 21, with the foldable phone to follow in September.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Samsung's Unpacked event on August 5 will be online only. Samsung's Galaxy S20 launch in San Francisco this past February was one of the last major tech events with a live audience.
