The countdown to the official launch date of the OnePlus Nord has begun, as OnePlus has just announced that the Nord will be available on July 21, and you can watch the virtual event in AR.

We also just found out about the OnePlus Nord's main camera through Android Central, and its specs look pretty impressive.

As reported by TechRadar, OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Nord AR app, which is already available on the Google Play Store and will be coming to the App Store for the iPhone. Here is what to expect from OnePlus Nord.

The OnePlus Nord will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G chip, which means it will support 5G networks, and the company also claims it will have a flagship-level camera.

According to a new report from Android Central, the quad rear camera array will consist of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP portrait cam. While this is a lot of lenses for a mid-range phone, we will have to wait and see for actual photo quality.

Other leaked information includes a 6.4-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, two front cameras (8MP and 32MP). 6GB of RAM, a 4,300mAh battery capable of 30W fast charging. In other words, the OnePlus Nord should be a very strong competitor to the iPhone SE and the upcoming Google Pixel 4a.

The OnePlus Nord launch event will begin at 3pm BST / 10am ET / 7am PDT. At that point, all you have to do is launch the AR app on your phone and follow along.

The Google Play app for the OnePlus Nord AR launch event will offer the option to create an avatar and provide other general tips, such as having the device fully charged and wearing headphones. It also recommends a Wi-Fi connection for best results.

Nord's AR app also shows a virtual product showcase on the phone sandwiched between several video windows.

Preorders for the OnePlus Nord are selling out very quickly, but there are two upcoming opportunities listed on the OnePlus Nord UK pre-order page.

The OnePlus Nord can be reserved on July 8 at 9:00 am BST / 4:00 am EDT / 1:00 am PDT, but only 900 units will be available according to TechRadar. The next opportunity is July 15.

Unfortunately, OnePlus is not currently planning to sell the OnePlus Nord in the U.S., but you may be able to get one via pre-order.
