When the iPhone 12 arrives this fall, Apple's new phone may not come bundled with several items. And new renderings provide further evidence that this year's iPhones will arrive without some accessories bundled.

Previous rumors suggested that Apple would not include EarPods or chargers with any of the four new iPhone 12 models, and a rendering by ConceptsiPhone's Ran Avni on MacRumors shows how that might work shows.

Avni's version focuses on the inserts inside the phone's box, rather than showing the phone like other iPhone 12 renderings. circular cutouts for the Lightning-to-Thunderbolt cable, a shallow area where iPhone document fits in a shallow area, and an indentation for the phone. Admittedly, charging bricks and earbuds will not fit in this container.

This rendering is no mere figment of fancy; a tweet from ConeptsiPhone claims that this is "100% real."

If you want something more than a rendering to confirm the news that Apple is taking these accessories out of the iPhone 12 box, Nikkei Asian Review, in a lineup of all the OLED phones Apple is preparing for the fall confirms it in its report on the company's new OLED phones.

In that article, sources tell Nikkei that Apple will not include a charger or wired earphones with the new phones. One source told the news site, "To keep costs down a bit is one reason, but not necessarily the most important one."

"The reason Apple is not bundling these two accessories is also because many existing iPhone users already have many of them from the past few years.

We have seen reports before that Apple will not include both EarPods and a charger with the iPhone 12. rumors of EarPods began circulating in May and were attributed to prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Reports that a charger would also join the earbuds came out at the end of June.

According to analysts and Apple watchers, by omitting the EarPods and the charging block, Apple could reduce the iPhone 12's package size and at the same time save money on manufacturing and shipping the new phone.

Of course, this move would also encourage people to purchase accessories for the new iPhone. In particular, it could spur sales of AirPods and AirPods Pro as Apple seeks to diversify its revenue streams.
