Newly discovered details about Samsung's upcoming foldable phone indicate that the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a release date of the end of September and will feature 25W fast charging.

Our knowledge of the release date comes from Ricciolo (via TechRadar), who tweeted the following information.

This claim confirms earlier leaks that Samsung will release its three major fall products, the Galaxy Note 20, Fold 2, and Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, in the three-month period from August to October. Perhaps Samsung is trying to rejuvenate sales and consumer interest with a triple combo of big announcements, with a new flagship fold in the middle of this period.

Ricciolo also mentions a Fold 2 price of €2,000 ($2,258 or £1,806). While it is difficult to guess the regional price based on currency conversion alone, this makes the Fold 2 slightly more expensive than the original Galaxy Fold at $1,980, albeit a small price increase in terms of total cost.

Samsung has a less expensive foldable in the form of the Galaxy Z Flip and is also expected to announce a similar Galaxy Z Flip 5G soon, so perhaps they are not as concerned about keeping the Fold 2's price down.

Another important new piece of information about the Fold 2 comes from the phone's Chinese 3C certification (via SamMobile), which tells us that the foldable will use a 25W charger and feature 5G connectivity. This is a notable improvement, as the original Galaxy Fold did not have 5G and charged at only 15W. However, at $2,000, it would be nice if it supported Samsung's best 45W charging speed, like the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

As for the battery itself, the Fold 2 is believed to have a total capacity of 4,365 mAh split between two cells. It is also rumored to have a built-in 120 Hz 7.7" OLED display, four cameras on the back (likely the same array as the Galaxy S20 Plus), and a chipset upgrade to the Snapdragon 865.
