Just in time for Independence Day, Captain America has officially arrived in Fortnite. The new Captain America skin, the latest in the Marvel and Fortnite crossover, allows players to take on the iconic First Avenger to create and fight their way through Epic's hugely popular battle royale game.

The Captain America skin can be purchased for 2,000 V-Bucks from the Fortnite Item Shop. With the purchase of this skin, you also get a Captain America shield, which can be used in-game as a pickaxe or displayed on your back as a back decoration.

If you are feeling even more patriotic, you can also get a Captain America salute emote for 300 V-Bucks. In this emote, the character poses while fireworks rain down from behind him.

Fortnite and Marvel have been crossing over since 2018, starting with a special Infinity War event where you can play as Thanos. Since then, various store items and events have brought more Marvel characters into the fold, including Deadpool, X-Men, Black Widow, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Not to mention the many pop culture crossovers that Fortnite has offered, including skins for DC superheroes such as Batman and Aquaman.

It is unclear how long Captain America will be in the item store, so if you want to represent the First Avenger on the battlefield, get it soon.
