Nvidia GeForce RTX3080Ti Revealed via Asus Leak - Here's your first look

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 series is almost certainly on the horizon, but new leaked information has revealed that Asus will be introducing a top-of-the-line model in the series.

This image, spotted by VideoCardz, is purportedly of the Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. While leaked information on the GeForce RTX 3080 is already available, this graphics card is Nvidia's next generation graphics, suggesting that a more powerful version of the GPU that will usher in the next generation of graphics is on the way.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti could actually be a top-of-the-line graphics card, rather than the rumored RTX 3090. Alternatively, it may be a GPU that falls somewhere between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090.

Regardless of where the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti sits in the Ampere graphics card lineup, which is expected to include the new RTX Titan card, the GeForce RTX 3070, and the RTX 3060, a strong pixel pusher is sure to be a strong pixel pusher. Its triple fan array and heavy use of heatsink fins suggest that a powerful GPU that requires powerful cooling to continue delivering peak performance without melting silicon will be housed under the chassis.

The two-tone metal design, sharp angles, and ROG eye brand logo are all in keeping with the Asus ROG series aesthetic. As such, we can confidently say that this leak is quite legitimate. And the graphics card appears to be based on the recently leaked GeForce RTX 3080 design.

Not much is known about the expected specs of the next generation GeForce graphics cards. However, they will all use Nvidia's Ampere GPU architecture, which promises not only better overall graphics performance, but also enhanced ray tracing.

Based on the August 2018 reveal of the current generation of Turing GeForce graphics cards, we predict that Nvidia may do the same with the Ampere GeForce. It is quite possible that the graphics giant will unveil its next GeForce cards towards the end of August or September, helping to showcase the next generation of graphics months ahead of the PS5 and Xbox Series X releases.
