Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra looks so good that Samsung leaked it

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 has no shortage of leaked information, but we never expected to see the clearest look at the back of Samsung's next phablet from the tech giant. But that's exactly what happened, especially in the case of the top-of-the-line Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

This is the big Note 20, which is expected to feature the Galaxy S20 Ultra's spectacular 108-megapixel camera, impressive zoom capabilities, and 120Hz LTPO display, and these images came from Samsung's Russian website. Samsung has since deleted this page, which appears to have accidentally leaked the Note 20.

Initially, scrolling to the bottom of the Samsung Russia page about the Galaxy Note 8 revealed a profile of what appeared to be a next-generation Note product. However, the page was removed a short time later. The Verge was the first to report this internal leak.

While we only got a sneak peak of the long-awaited phablet, these images confirm the large rectangular camera stack present in several prototypes we have seen over the past few months. The mocha-like color of the phone's body and frame carries over to its modules, and the lens itself is surrounded by a metal ring that draws attention to the optics.

We didn't like the Galaxy Note 20's aesthetic much in previous leaks, but we admit that it looks very nice here in the favorable light of Samsung's marketing materials.

Another closer look at the image shows that the Note 20's signature S Pen is also covered in a chrome texture that echoes the device's frame while providing a tasteful contrast to the matte glass back. On the side, there is a power key below the volume rocker.

Returning to the camera for a moment, we see that the last of the three optics is deeply recessed, with a rectangle-like prism pointing outward. This appears to be another periscope zoom lens, again similar to the one the S20 Ultra had. The time-of-flight depth sensor is probably on the right side, hidden by that black pill-shaped strip.

We don't know if the new Note's zoom capability will match the S20 Ultra's 100x "space zoom" feature, but reputable leaker Ice Universe has said in the past that we can expect up to 50x output from this lens and sensor. However, reputable leaker Ice Universe has stated in the past that one can expect up to 50x more capability from this lens and sensor.

The timing of this oversight from Samsung occurs just hours after yet another leak seemed to confirm August 5 as the date the company will unveil its next-generation Notebook line. On that date, the company will likely announce the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Fold 2, as well as new wireless earbuds, smartwatches, and other accessories.
