i did it! The release date of iPhone12 can be delayed by up to 2 months

The iPhone 12 may be announced in September, but it is unlikely to be released that month. According to a new report, the iPhone 12 is one to two months behind schedule due to a coronavirus outbreak.

According to Nikkei Asian Review, Apple is "experiencing a four-week to two-month delay in mass production of four models in its 5G lineup." This is reportedly due to factory closures and absenteeism in the workplace. So how will this affect the iPhone 12 release date?

The good news is that Apple is aggressively reducing delays and the company and its suppliers are working overtime. As a result, it is now "less likely" that the iPhone 12 will be delayed until 2021.

While other companies follow fairly strict telecommuting guidelines, Apple's hardware development team reportedly returned to the office last month. As a result, they were able to move up some deadlines.

Nevertheless, Nikkei reports that final assembly of the iPhone may be delayed until "early October." This is because a lot of testing is still being done and, surprisingly, the final design "has not yet been finalized."

Apple has reportedly reduced its 5G iPhone order quantity from 100 million to 80 million units due to market demand. However, the company is preparing to increase orders for older models including the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE.

The Nikkei report recounts what we have heard for some time, namely that Apple plans to release three screen sizes (5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch) for the iPhone 12. iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro are both have 6.1" displays, with the regular iPhone 12 having a 5.4" panel and the iPhone 12 Pro Max being 6.7".

Nikkei states that only the top-of-the-line iPhone 12 will feature mmWave 5G technology, which presumably means both iPhone 12 Pro devices. iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will have longer range than mmWave, but less speed, sub-6 GHz %G support only.

What is certain at this point is that the iPhone 12 release date is very fluid.
