Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Leak Reveals Secret Weapon against iPhone 12

There has been some debate as to whether the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will inherit the 108-megapixel camera from the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but now there seems to be some confirmation.

The confirmation comes from a tweet by WinFuture's Roland Quandt, who says he has seen "solid evidence" of a 108 megapixel main camera:

On one level, this is not surprising at all; the Galaxy S series and Note series will be released at the end of the year, Samsung has always had the challenge of making the Note series justify its high entry price, even though it has nothing more to offer in terms of speed unless Qualcomm releases a new chipset.

Improvements usually come in the form of storage capacity, an included S Pen, and an improved camera. Thus, it would be quite odd if Samsung would allow the Note 20 Ultra to be considered a downgrade from the S20 Ultra.

However, some were concerned that the 108-megapixel camera would also be discontinued due to information previously leaked from IceUniverse that the Note 20 would not feature the S20 Ultra's 100x space zoom trick. Of course, the two are not mutually exclusive: it is entirely possible for a phone that does not include Samsung's space zoom to have a 108-megapixel camera, and it is a little embarrassing for Samsung to abandon a feature it put so much promotional effort into only four months ago Although it is.

The upgrade could make the Note 20 Ultra a formidable competitor to the iPhone 12 Pro, which is expected to feature a triple camera array in addition to an advanced depth sensor LiDAR scanner.

Elsewhere, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra looks as premium as any 2020 flagship smartphone. With Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 865 processor and 12GB of RAM, it will not be inferior. It will also inherit the 120Hz screen from the S20 series and may be able to unlock apps that run at 60 fps or higher; it will come with 256GB or 512GB of storage and a 4,500-5,000mAh battery.

The S Pen has apparently been upgraded, with a response time of just 9ms, putting it on par with the Apple Pencil. This is thanks to the aforementioned 120Hz screen, and the experience of doodling on the device's 6.87-inch display should be close to what it feels like to write on paper.

You might think that the sum total of all these features would be quite a bit of money, and you would be right. We estimate it will be somewhere between $1,200 and $1,400, but we will know for sure when Samsung debuts the new phones at the rumored August 5 Unpacked event, along with the Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Tab S7 We will know for sure when.
