iPhone12Pro leak confirmed the huge upgrade we were waiting for

We had heard that an iPhone 12 Pro upgrade might be coming, and now it seems to be confirmed. Another leak claims that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 120Hz refresh rate display and are ready to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

Serial technology leaker Ice Universe tweeted that reliable sources have informed them that the displays of the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro models will have higher refresh rates, which further confirms the rumors we have been hearing. It also suggests that the standard iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will have to make do with the usual 60Hz refresh rate.

120Hz refresh rate displays are likely based on the Pro Motion technology found in the iPad Pro 2020 and early models of Apple's high-end tablets. Such a display would make everything from scrolling and video playback to gaming smoother and more responsive.

Given that the Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 Pro have 120Hz displays, and the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 will also have a high refresh rate display, Apple's inclusion of such screen technology in the iPhone 12 Pro is necessary to catch up with its Android rivals. It is often said that once one uses a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, it is difficult to go back to a standard 60 Hz screen.

It may seem odd that Apple would not include a Pro Motion display on the regular iPhone 12. However, a new price leak for the iPhone 12 shows it as low as $549. In other words, this may be a specific price to hit.

The Galaxy Note 20 has the advantage of the rumored 120Hz display, which uses LTPO technology to dynamically change the panel refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. This could give Samsung an advantage in battery life.

According to previous leaks, the iPhone 12 will consist of four models with three different screen sizes: iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max at 5.4" and 6.1", iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max at 6.1" and 6 6.7 inches. All four models are said to be the first Apple phones to feature 5G connectivity.

In terms of cameras, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max are expected to feature two rear cameras. And the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are rumored to feature a triple camera array, and at least the Max model will also have a LiDAR sensor as seen on the iPad Pro 2020.

Most notably, all four iPhone 12 models are expected to have a new design with more square edges like the iPhone 5.
