It looks like the OnePlus8T is imminent as the release date of Snapdragon 865plus has leaked

The OnePlus 8T chipset may be revealed in July, giving us a clearer glimpse of what the new phone will feature.

This is according to a post on Ice Universe's Weibo profile (via GizmoChina) that, barring any problems, chipmaker Qualcomm will reveal the Snapdragon 865 Plus next month in July.

The Snapdragon 865 Plus is believed to be the chip that will be used in the OnePlus 8T and many other Android flagship models. Last year's OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro both used the Snapdragon 855 Plus chip, so it makes sense that a year later OnePlus would use this chip's successor in its next T-version flagship.

Alongside this new chipset, the OnePlus 8T is expected to feature a 90Hz or 120Hz display similar to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, and powerful 65W wired charging. It is also likely to come with Android 11 in the form of a new version of the Oxygen OS shortly after launch.

It is debatable whether Samsung will be able to use this chip in time for the Galaxy Note 20, which is expected to be released in August. Different rumors claim that this could be in the Note 20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy Fold 2, so it will be interesting to see the final specifications of these devices in a few weeks.

In another Samsung-related leak, Ice Universe also claims that the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will have a matte glass finish similar to the iPhone 11 Pro and OnePlus 8 series. This is a significant departure from the glossy glass backs of the Galaxy S20 and last year's Galaxy Note 10, but not necessarily a bad thing. A matte phone looks very attractive on its own, and it's perfect for keeping it that way because it's fingerprint resistant.
