The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 are likely to be the stars of Samsung's next Unpacked event, but there is something else that could steal the spotlight: the Galaxy Tab S7. And while previously only a regular 11-inch tablet was considered a certainty, rumors of a 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S7 Plus are now almost certain.

This confirmation is provided by both TUV Rheinland and Safety Korea certifications found by leaker Venkatesh Babu. As shown below, both listings include high capacity batteries rated at 9,800mAh with a typical capacity of 10,090mAh.

And this is not the only unexpectedly high-capacity battery the Galaxy Tab S7 has. It has already been confirmed through another listing to be 7,760mAh.

So what does this mean in practice? At least potentially, a very long battery life. For comparison, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2020 has a 9,720mAh battery that lasted more than 10 hours in our battery tests. Admittedly, Android devices and iOS-based ones consume batteries at different rates, but in any case, it would be quite surprising if this is a tablet that requires constant battery refilling.

The photo at the top of the page may look a little familiar, but it is actually a mockup of the Plus model by OnLeaks and Pigtou. It looks almost identical to the regular Tab S7 mockup because the two look basically identical: the Tab S7 Plus measures 285mm x 185mm x 5.7mm, while the vanilla version measures 253.7mm x 165.3mm x 6.3mm.

The similarities go beyond just skin depth. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus does not appear to be a significant evolution of the regular Tab S7. That means both will have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor, 5G connectivity, and a 120Hz refresh rate screen. And, of course, there's the S Pen: Samsung's tiny pressure-sensing stylus will be included, which is a big advantage over the Apple Pencil, which costs $129 a piece and is sold separately.

We can approximate the price of the Tab S7 based on last year's Tab S6 (which launched for $649.99), plus the Tab S7 Plus is a bit of an unknown quantity for the original product line. Judging by Samsung's history of pricing larger edition phones, a $100-$200 markup seems plausible, but we won't know for sure until the official announcement; all eyes are on the next Unpacked event, scheduled for August 5
