Snyder Cut Justice League Teaser Trailer is out — here's your first look at Darkseid

The "Justice League" Snyder cut has always been enigmatic, but we now have further visual confirmation of one of the major differences from the original version: the Darkseid.

Yes, in a teaser trailer (embedded below) released today by HBO Max to get everyone excited for the 2021 release of the "Justice League" remake, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is shown staring at a dark mural, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) chats and reiterates his words from the post-credits scene of "Batman vs Superman": "The bell has already been rung." And then the Darkseid appears:

Yes, the Darkseid's armies are terrorized, and the flames of death and destruction descend: ...... Where. The teaser trailer ends abruptly before we see the Darkseid up close.

When rumors of the Snyder cut first circulated, Tom's Guide asked, "Is this movie really that different?" we wondered aloud. The economics of film rarely allow studios to shoot more than they need to, as they try to stay within their budgets.

But somewhere between the time Zack Snyder started shooting "Justice League" and the time Joss Whedon took the reins and finished the film, it seems that the entire evil big bad villain was filmed and left on the chopping block after a tragic death in Snyder's family.

In a tweet, Snyder confirmed for the first time that the character would appear in the film:

Previously, actor Ray Porter had tweeted that he would play Darkseid in the film, but this is the first moving image we have seen of the character.
