Fortnite Device Events: Start time, date, location, and how to watch

Fortnite's next big event is here, aptly named "The Device," and this particular event will mark the beginning of Fortnite Season 3 with a massive in-game storm that will change the world of battle royale gaming forever.

"The Device" event centers around "The Agency," where a character named "Midas" wreaks havoc with a doomsday device that will most likely cause major changes to certain locations within the Fortnite map. Here's everything you need to know about Fortnite's "The Device" event and how to catch the chaos live.

The Device event will take place today (June 15) at 11am PT / 2pm ET. However, Epic recommends getting to the game 30 minutes early "to secure your spot and get in on the live action."

UPDATE: Epic has announced that today's event has reached capacity, but you can still watch the event live via various streaming platforms.

Based on previous in-game events, there should be a dedicated mode for The Device when you launch the game. Also, if you haven't played Fortnite yet and want to make it to this event, you can play for free on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.

Those who are unable to dive into "Fortnite" at the event's start time or just want to watch can also check out Fortnite streamers on Twitch and Mixer who will be broadcasting the event. Streams from popular YouTuber CouRage are also embedded below:

Like most major Fortnite events, "The Device" is expected to bring notable changes to the Fortnite map. The event itself will likely consist of a massive storm that could drown or destroy some of Fortnite's most iconic locations, including the Agency Building, located near the center of the map.

According to recently leaked images, the Agency area is likely to undergo significant changes, with the roof destroyed and the interior exposed. Epic also teased the event with a set of posters depicting certain game areas and characters floating on water.

The event will force players to swim around and may cause parts of the map to dive underwater or float on islands.
