The OnePlus 8T is on the way, and it may have new features that will put it on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. According to a new report, the OnePlus 8T may boast the fastest wired charging around.

As reported by XDA Developers, 65W Super Warp charging for the OnePlus 8T was spotted in the Android 11 beta. For reference, the current OnePlus 8 Pro supports 30W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging. In other words, this is more than twice as fast.

By comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Plus/Ultra are expected to have 25W chargers and a 45W option similar to the Galaxy S20 line. This means that the OnePlus 8T will have a significant advantage over the Note 20 when it comes to charging speed.

The OnePlus 8 Pro was already fast enough, as it was able to charge from 0% to 63% in 30 minutes with the included wired charger; the Galaxy S20 Ultra's included 25W charger also delivered 63% power in 30 minutes; according to a previous report by PhoneArena, the 45W Samsung fast charger charged the S20 Ultra to 70% in 30 minutes.

The leak seems to confirm this rumor, as we learned that OnePlus registered a new charger capable of 65W output with German certification service TÜV Rheinland in May.

Another rumor from XDA Developers is that the OnePlus 8 phone will come in a new color, Ice Blue, but it is not clear if this is for the OnePlus 8, the OnePlus 8 Pro, or both. The leak is based on OnePlus' OxygenOS software engineering mode app.

Based on the leaks so far, the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8T Pro will launch this fall and will likely feature a Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, 8-12 GB of RAM, and improved cameras. We can also expect 5G connectivity to become standard on both models. However, it seems likely that ultra-fast wired charging will be a featured feature of these flagship models.
