The moment we've been waiting for for months is here: we're almost ready to see the big PS5 launch event.

The PS5 launch event, titled "The Future of Gaming," is loosely defined, giving everyone a chance to get their hopes up for something a little different. Fortunately, we've been keeping a close eye on the market and figuring out what to expect.

The biggest thing we're hoping for isn't even a console; as we explained in our preview of the PS5 June 11 event, we'll be betting on news about PS5 games from third-party and independent developers. There may be some exclusive titles, but no official design, price, or release date will be announced just yet.

As one might expect, many people online have complained about Sony's preview of the PS5's appearance, but Sony has given us all reason not to hold our breath. Sony's blog post announcing the event focuses entirely on the video games that will appear on the PS5.

Hopefully Sony will make the absence of the console easier to swallow by revealing a few games exclusive to the PS5. Everything you need to watch the event live is here.
