This Fold 2 information comes from SamMobile, citing unnamed sources in Korea, where Samsung is headquartered. This confirms recent rumors we have heard from reliable leakers about the company's upcoming Foldable display.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a 7.7" internal display and a 6.23" front display.

The larger, expanded display will benefit from the 120Hz refresh rate Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S20 series. The narrow exterior panel of the original Fold was really only useful for making and receiving calls, and the extremely thick top and bottom bezels made it look rather dumb.

If this leak feels like deja vu, it's because display consultant Ross Young shared a similar report on Twitter in April about the Galaxy Fold 2's screen specifications.

However, as with any rumor surrounding an unannounced phone, it is always encouraging to see similar information reported by multiple sources. The fact that this leak is from an anonymous source gives us some pause, but SamMobile has provided reputable information in the past, and again these specs are consistent with what we have heard previously.

As the summer release of the Galaxy Fold 2 approaches, we will likely catch wind of more substantial leaks, especially around the aesthetic; SamMobile's sources say that Samsung has begun ordering parts for the new foldable and will begin production next month. The company plans to begin production next month.

The Galaxy Fold 2 will likely be unveiled at the Unpacked event in August, along with Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 lineup and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G model.
