With HBO Max now available, many of you may be considering the differences between HBO Max and Netflix. Currently, the streaming service landscape is very crowded, and subscribing to all services is not feasible for everyone.

HBO Max is Warner Media's new platform that aggregates content from Warner Media's leading brands, including HBO, DC, and Warner Bros. film and television Netflix, of course, is a streaming pioneer. It has built a vast library of licensed TV shows and movies, as well as high-profile originals like "Stranger Things," "Ozark," "The Crown," and "Bojack Horseman.

HBO Max costs $14.99, the same price as HBO Now. (Read more about HBO Max vs. HBO Go vs. HBO Now.) This price has been reduced to $11.99 per month if you reserve a one-year subscription, but this deal is no longer available.

Netflix prices vary depending on which of the three plans you choose. Basic for $8.99 (standard definition, 1 stream), Standard for $12.99 (high definition, 2 streams), and Premium for $15.99 (HD and 4K, 4 streams).

The Netflix app is available on nearly all the best streaming devices; Netflix devices include iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and tablets, most major smart TVs (Samsung, LG, Sony, and other manufacturers), Roku, Chromecast, Xbox, Playstation, set-top cable boxes, and many Blu-ray players.

The HBO Max app is available for iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Samsung smart TVs. However, HBO Max is not yet compatible with Roku or Fire TV.

HBO Max launched with a vast library thanks to decades of content accumulated by the Warner Media brand; HBO Max includes content from HBO, DC, and Warner Bros. film and television studios, as well as content from Studio Ghibli and BBC licensed content is also included.

HBO programming includes "Friends," "Game of Thrones," "The Big Bang Theory," "Rick and Morty," "The Sopranos," "The Wire," and numerous other classic and recent hits; HBO movies include the "Batman" series, " DC Universe, including "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman," as well as Warner Bros. films such as "The Lord of the Rings," the "Matrix" trilogy, and the "Lego" series. HBO Max has also produced its own original films. At launch, "Love Life," starring Anna Kendrick, and "The Not Too Late Show With Elmo" debuted. Future projects include a reboot of Gossip Girl, the Green Lantern series, and Justice League Dark.

Netflix also boasts a vast library of licensed and original programming. The latter is what has made it the best streaming service on the market; Netflix's original programming has made a big splash and often becomes a pop culture sensation. Netflix has also produced Academy Award nominees such as "Roma," "The Irishman," and "Marriage Story," as well as "The Witcher," "The Crown," "Black Mirror," "Glow," "The Russian Doll," and "The Umbrella Academy," among others. Netflix's premium plans include the ability to stream content in 4K (where available).

HBO Max does not offer 4K streaming at this time, but may in the future.

Netflix's three plans have different numbers of simultaneous streams that allow people sharing an account to watch different shows at the same time. The Basic plan has only one stream, while Standard has two and Premium has four.

Netflix offers a one-month free trial to new subscribers.
