PS5 can get what you really want

Last week's postponed PS5 event would have been more than just a hardware unveiling, but a glimpse of some of the upcoming games that will take advantage of the new processing power. However, according to some sources, if you've been methodically working your way through the PS4's best games over the past few years, at least one of the new titles looks more than a little familiar.

Yes, it appears that From Software's "Bloodborne" is being remastered. The report was initially shared by streamer CaseyExplosion and came from a "reliable source," who said that the improved game would be available on both PS5 and PC.

While tweets from a single individual should usually be taken with a grain of salt, the rumor was given a bit more credibility by Wario64, who shared a video with a bit more meat on the bones.

If we disregard the four minutes without footage, the "Bloodborne" remaster was produced by Bluepoint Games (who also did the PS4 remasters of "Uncharted," "Gravity Rush" and "Wanda and the Colossus"), who recently released the "Dark Souls" remaster They are working with QLOC on the project. Apparently, the reworked code will achieve 60fps and 4K resolution, and will also manage those painfully long load times. Exciting stuff.

But what about a port to PC? Wouldn't the very idea of Sony bringing a PS4 exclusive title to Windows 10 computers put a damper on the whole affair? Not really; given the success of "Horizon Zero Dawn," "Death Stranding," and "Detroit: Dark Souls" on the PC, it makes sense that "Bloodborne" would follow suit.

Of course, not everything is a go-ahead for PC: Sony will close the upcoming PlayStation event with a remake of "Demon's Souls," a PlayStation 5 exclusive," the voice-over saying.

The video further states that this does not necessarily mean that the game will not be released on PC, but that Sony's strategy is to give players at least some reason to invest in PlayStation 5, rather than, for example, putting all their money into a new graphics card. He explains that it is about maintaining exclusivity.

Of course, these are just rumors for now, but if nothing else, the collective excitement on the Internet should provide the impetus Sony needs to scratch the "Souls" itch with its next-generation hardware.
