iPhone11 users are ridiculed by the green screen shades

iPhone 11 screen appears to be a bit greener than usual A strange new bug has been reported on Reddit and Internet forums, suggesting that Apple may have accidentally introduced a new problem in a recent software update.

Owners of recent iPhones - primarily iPhone 11 and 11 Pro phones, but there have also been isolated reports on X and Xs models - have been dealing with brief flashes of a green tint across their displays, usually for a period of time where the phone is left idling after unlocking.

Unlike a similar scenario on the OnePlus 8 handset, this issue resolves almost immediately, but understandably, owners are concerned that this may be an early warning sign of display life.

Given the very large number of people complaining of this issue, it seems likely that the cause is not so serious. The problem seems to have reared its ugly green head since the introduction of iOS 13.4.1.

The transition to 13.5 has been a mixed blessing for sufferers, with some claiming that the update to 13.5.1 "helped just a little" and others believing that the patch made it more prominent." With 13.5, it feels like it stays there longer, which is probably why more people noticed it." One of the affected users said it used to disappear in half a second, but now it takes 10 times longer to disappear. [However, given that version 13.5.5 of iOS is currently being tested, it is unlikely that this bug is included, unless the company has been aware of it for some time.

Given the widespread awareness of this issue on Reddit and elsewhere, one would hope that Apple is now aware of it, if not previously.
