The iOS14 leak reveals which iPhone will do it — here's the full list

iOS 14 will not leave any phones behind this year as it is again rumored to be compatible with all Apple mobile devices currently running iOS 13.

The leak comes from The Verifier (via 9to5Mac), which sources code and insiders within the iOS 14 beta. This was previously rumored in January of this year when French website iPhoneSoft claimed that the iPhone 6S and the original iPhone SE would be running iOS 14, even though both models are over five years old.

If you want to double-check if your iPhone is included in the iOS 14 update, here is the full list of iPhones that are rumored to be compatible:

Apple will not be able to properly run the latest version of iOS if the chipset is too old. The iPhone 6S and 2016 iPhone SE both use the Apple A9 CPU, as does the 7th generation iPod Touch, which according to leaks will be supported by iOS 14.

Thus, we can assume that this chipset is powerful enough to run the same basic software as the latest iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone SE (2020) models.

However, The Verifier claims that while the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE will get a stay of execution this year, they will not get the main update (probably called iOS 15) next year. The iPhone 7 will then be the oldest fully supported iPhone and, according to the report, will receive two more years of support.

We expect iOS 14 to debut at this month's online-only WWDC 2020 keynote along with macOS and iPadOS updates. Other leaked features include the introduction of customizable home screen widgets, a new multitasking interface, a new AR app, and various other tweaks and upgrades.
