The first beta version of Android 11 was mistakenly delivered to certain Pixel 4 owners. Since Google canceled this week's beta release event, this is the first opportunity to see some of the operating system's newest features. [Mishaal Raman of XDA Developers (via The Verge) revealed that he received two messages from Google Pixel 4 XL users saying they received the Android 11 beta early.

The beta version reveals several changes to the new version of Google's mobile operating system, which Raman posted on Twitter as she found them. One of these is a new power button menu, where holding down the on/off button offers a wider range of options, including payment cards, smart home device controls, and other important settings.

Google has also added a new media player widget within the quick settings bar at the top of the notification shade, similar to the one in iOS 13's Control Center, which lets you play, pause, skip songs, and open media apps directly from the shade.

And there is an option to toggle "bubble" notifications for different apps, allowing chat windows to open above other apps for easy replies Raman also showed off a new app suggestion system in the bottom dock based on the most frequently used apps.

There are also three new app icon shapes named Vessel, TaperedRect, and Pebble.

We had hoped Google would unveil the latest version of Android at the June 3 event, but this showcase has been postponed. from the official Android Developers Twitter account, "now is not the time to celebrate," a tweet from the official Android Developers Twitter account suggests that this is due to the protests currently taking place around the U.S. in response to the death of George Floyd.

Sony has also postponed its June 4 PS5 event for similar reasons. As of now, it is unclear when Google will hold its rescheduled event.
