Are Apple glasses as smooth as hell? And you can start faster than you think

Earlier today, we reported that Apple Glasses would not appear for some time, but people who have seen the company's rumored augmented reality (AR) lenses say they will appear sooner than expected.

Longtime Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo provided an update on the product to investors yesterday. In the note, Kuo said that while the new iPad is imminent, Apple Glasses will not be ready to ship until 2022 "at the earliest."

Jon Prosser thinks otherwise, saying that he has seen the glasses and that launch is "March to June 2021 He shared on Twitter that he is aiming for "March to June 2021.

Prosser has had an accurate track record in recent months and said he "can't believe" that his Apple Glass information contradicts Kuo's.

The two analysts have shared several conflicting reports in the past. Prosser said he has a video to showcase soon.

In November, The Information reported on an internal presentation for employees at headquarters, where attendees said Apple Vice President Mike Rockwell had leaked details about the design and features of Apple Glass.

It is possible that Prosser obtained material from this meeting, but it is also possible that he has video of a more recent prototype. Needless to say, we are interested in finding out.

Due to their conspicuous design and unpolished functionality, so-called "smart" glasses have, for the most part, never piqued more than temporary interest among consumers. But if Apple were developing better-looking glasses and acquiring a string of AR-related startups, more people might be convinced. After all, Apple has managed to make it cool to wear mini gray hair dryers in your ears.

At least the first generation of Apple Glass uses the iPhone for processing power, delivering AR apps and information wirelessly to our eyes. Over time, however, it may evolve into a stand-alone wearable device.

Apple's vision for AR will be revealed long before Apple Glasses are released to the public; at WWDC 2020, Apple will likely unveil a new AR app, and the iPhone 12 Pro model is suspected to include a LiDAR scanner. The iPhone 12 Pro model is suspected to have a LiDAR scanner. How well the app and scanner are received could certainly affect the release date of Apple Glasses.
