The latest iPhone 12 leak may be the biggest yet, as a new video released by EverythingApplePro based on a report from trusted informant Max Weinbach seems to confirm a significant display upgrade for Apple's upcoming iPhone, as well as several notable camera and Face ID improvements. As reported by 9to5Mac, the biggest iPhone change outlined in the video is the iPhone 12's 120Hz ProMotion display, which is rumored to be exclusive to the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro series. ProMotion screens feature dynamic refresh rate switching, allowing the user to go back and forth between 60Hz and 120Hz depending on what they are doing on the phone.

For example, 120Hz mode might be enabled when gaming or watching a movie, while 60Hz might be the default for basic tasks such as composing an email or jotting down notes. Our Galaxy S20 tests have shown that 120Hz displays are battery draining, so this should help maintain the iPhone 12's durability.

Speaking of batteries, EverythingApplePro claims that the largest iPhone 12 Pro model could have a 4,400mAh battery or more. That means it could be a big jump from the 3,969mAh in the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

According to Weinbach, this is consistent with previous rumors that the iPhone 12 will have a smaller Face ID sensor and a smaller notch. However, there is also some new information--Apple's face scanner may feature a wide-angle lens for face unlocking from multiple positions and a new algorithm to more accurately track specific facial features.

And then there are the cameras. Weinbach reports that the iPhone 12 will have 2 to 3 times better autofocus than its predecessor, as well as improved subject detection and slow-motion performance in low light. The telephoto zoom will also be upgraded from 2x to 3x optical zoom, which should allow for clearer zoom shots.

Thanks to the LiDAR depth sensor rumored to be included in the iPhone 12 (which was featured in the recent iPad Pro 2020), the new model should offer significantly improved portrait mode for photos and videos. iPhone 12 prototyping has shown that the iPhone's new camera system is reportedly running a little behind schedule to do how advanced it is, but it is unclear if this will push the iPhone out of the September 2020 launch schedule.

Most iPhone 12 rumors have it launching this fall in four variants, including two standard 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models and two iPhone 12 Pro models in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes. The higher-end models are expected to support 5G connectivity and all will have OLED screens. iPhone 12 is still months away from its scheduled release, so expect more major leaks to pop up in the meantime.
