The iPhone 12 will reportedly come in four sizes, ranging from 5.4 inches to 6.7 inches, but it is the smallest model that is likely to draw the most attention.

According to a new video released by EverythingApplePro's Filip Koroy citing leaks from Macotakara, the new 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will be shockingly compact. In fact, it may redefine the entire small phone category.

As Forbes first reported, Koroy said, "We were completely wrong about the 5.4-inch size... If you actually look at the size compared to other iPhone sizes, this is small," he says. He further states that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 "will be a ridiculously popular device."

So, why would it be so popular: imagine a phone that is smaller than the iPhone SE 2020 and has an almost full screen. For reference, the dimensions of the new iPhone SE are 5.43 x 2.65 inches, while the iPhone 12 5.4-inch dimensions are reported to be 5.15 x 2.51 inches. Thickness is not known, but the iPhone 12 is heard to be thinner than the iPhone 11.

To achieve these dimensions, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 display would be narrower and taller than the iPhone SE panel, but the former would still be very easy to use with one hand. The difference in aspect ratio is that the iPhone SE is 16:9, while the iPhone 12 is 19.5:9. In other words, the new iPhone 12 screen will have a ratio similar to Samsung's Galaxy S20 (20:9).

As previously reported, the iPhone 12 will likely not support mmWave 5G and will not have a telephoto lens. These features will be reserved for the iPhone 12 Pro lineup, along with a LiDAR scanner and 120Hz refresh rate for advanced performance in the new wave of iPhone AR apps.

These are trade-offs worth noting, but consider how much more you can get for your phone with the iPhone 12 5.4-inch, which is rumored to start at just $649. You'll get Apple's phenomenal new A14 Bionic processor, which should be able to blow away the best Android phones. And Apple is said to be ditching LCD screens for OLED displays on all new iPhone 12 models, which means more vibrant colors, perfect blacks, and wider viewing angles. The new main sensor is also expected to improve the camera.

If the leaked information and rumors prove accurate, the entry-level iPhone 12 could become the best-selling iPhone ever.
