Samsung has just confirmed the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2

Samsung is almost certain to launch the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 and plans to pack them with features that will attract buyers even as the coronavirus pandemic worries the company.

In its latest earnings report, Samsung noted that it could face stiff competition in the smartphone space as rivals step up efforts to make up for the time and attention lost by the COVID-19 crisis. However, Samsung plans to come out on top by releasing new Note phones and foldable handsets, and by focusing heavily on 5G capabilities in its smartphones.

The coronavirus outbreak dealt Samsung a reasonable blow, with total sales down 7.6% quarter-over-quarter due to poor sales of cell phones and TVs.

Still, Samsung's profits rose 3% to about $5.2 billion, but this was due to the chip division's performance, and the company expects second-quarter profits from its cell phone and TV division to "decline significantly" as people reduce spending on non-essential items while the coronavirus crisis continues. However, Samsung plans to bounce back in the second half of the year.

"We will continue to offer differentiated products in the premium segment with the launch of new folding and notebook models," Samsung said." The Company also plans to enhance its product competitiveness by expanding the introduction of 5G into mass-market smartphones and improve operational efficiency in all areas, from R&D, production, supply, channels, and marketing."

So basically, it confirms that the Galaxy Note 20 is in the planning stages, and that we can expect another foldable device that will probably be the Galaxy Fold 2, rather than a follow-up to the Galaxy Z Flip. And both models appear to feature the best technology Samsung has to offer.

Galaxy Note phones have always been the pinnacle of Samsung flagships, packing all the features of the preceding S series into a larger frame and adding additional features like additional sensors, an S Pen, and a larger battery. And Samsung will likely do the same this time around. That's because the next notebook will feature almost everything Samsung can throw at it, especially 5G capabilities.

From the leaks and rumors so far, it appears that the Galaxy Note 20 will be a significant upgrade over the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, with a 120Hz refresh rate display and at least the larger Note 20 Plus model will have a 7-inch screen.

It is also speculated that the Galaxy Note 20 may also feature a selfie camera below the display, which would be a first for a smartphone and would certainly provide a feature to stand out against Apple's iPhone 12 and its small notch It would be.

The Galaxy Fold 2 also seems poised to get all the high-end features Samsung can throw at it. Rumors suggest that it may feature the "Infinity-O" punch-hole camera found in the Galaxy S20 Ultra and other phones, freeing it from the choppy camera cutouts that the original Galaxy Fold had.

From the concept images we have seen so far based on various leaks and rumors, the Galaxy Fold 2 looks very attractive and could fulfill the ambition of being a proper next-generation mobile device.

It also has a larger 7.6" high-resolution main display, an improved hinge mechanism, a more durable foldable display, and a larger 6.2" external screen for when the Fold 2 is used as a smartphone rather than a tablet is expected to be included. And it will also have 5G connectivity.

We also hear that the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a similar camera system as the Galaxy S20 Plus, with a 12MP primary lens, 64MP telephoto camera, and 12MP ultra-wide shooter expected.

Samsung did not say when it would release either the Galaxy Note 20 or the Galaxy Fold 2, but its statement was intended for the second half of this year. In other words, the Note 20 will probably appear around August, and the Galaxy Fold 2 will probably be announced around the same time or slightly later.
