The stunning Galaxy Fold 2 design is all we wanted

Last week we reported on a leak that revealed key specs for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, and now a design rendering image has been released that makes the leaked information a reality.

The biggest change? The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will have a large 6.23-inch display on the front, which is a big step up from the tiny 4.6-inch panel of the original Galaxy Fold. In fact, this display was so small that it was nearly impossible to use for typing.

The design was created by Benjamin Geskin, who created a rendering of the Galaxy Fold based on the latest leaks, with 91Mobiles being the first to release a rendering.

As can be seen in the image above, the rendered image of the Galaxy Fold 2 shows a front display consisting almost entirely of a screen, except for a punch hole notch for the front camera. The refresh rate of this screen is believed to be limited to 60 Hz.

The inner display is upgraded to 120 Hz, the same as the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. And the screen will jump from 7.3" to 7.6", again a step up in size should be expected here. [For us, the front screen is a killer upgrade, because it means the difference between having to rely on the built-in display most of the time, or having a device that can really be used as both a phone and a tablet.

The latest Galaxy Fold 2 rumors say that the device will not support S Pen input and that this feature will be reserved for the Galaxy Note 20. However, these renderings include the S Pen on the right side of both the closed and open images of the Fold 2.

We are also told that the Galaxy Fold 2's camera system will be heavily borrowed from Samsung's Galaxy S20 Plus, and we have no complaints. However, we wouldn't mind seeing the Galaxy S20 Ultra's powerful Space Zoom on the Fold 2.

Both the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Note 20 are expected to debut at summer events, probably in late July or early August. However, it remains to be seen how the coronavirus outbreak will affect Samsung's timing. iPhone 12 mass production has reportedly been delayed by a month.
