The stunning iPhone12Pro design makes the iPhone SE look boring

As more and more iPhone 12 leaks come out with design details about Apple's next flagship, we are seeing more and more designs based on those leaks. And now there is a fresh set of renderings that bring all the rumors to life.

These new renders, created by sveteapple, show what the iPhone 12 Pro could look like with 3D visualization. Flat edges, a smaller notch, and a slimmer design. With such a sleek look, you might think twice about picking up the iPhone SE 2020 and its large bezels, despite its very low price of $399.

The first thing we notice about this iPhone 12 Pro design is that the rounded sides are gone, replaced by flat edges inspired by the iPad Pro 2020. Multiple sources have confirmed this iPad-like aesthetic, giving Apple's flagship a more futuristic feel.

In the renderings, Apple uses the same materials as before - stainless steel sides and a frosted glass back - but the elimination of curves makes the steel band pop more.

According to Svetapple, the new iPhone 12 Pro is 1 mm thinner and the design certainly looks sleeker than the iPhone 11 Pro. The site claims that Apple will have to redesign the battery if it wants to maintain capacity, and the location of the SIM card may also change.

As for color options, we're told that Apple is working on a dark blue iPhone 12, but there are other shades in the mix here. Olive green, white, and gray are also available.

We've already seen several reports of a shrinking notch on the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, so this design offers a peek into that. The notch is certainly not as wide as the notch on the iPhone 11 Pro series, so hopefully it will be less noticeable this time around. How will Apple do this? Perhaps by moving the speaker to the top of the frame.

Another big change here is the quad camera array on the back; the fourth lens does not take pictures, but a LiDAR scanner that is rumored to be included in both the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, similar to the iPad Pro 2020, LiDAR scanner will work with a new augmented reality app with better depth sensing at greater distances.

In this case, the LiDAR scanner would be placed in the lower right corner of the camera bump and the True Tone flash would move to the center of the array. Rumor has it that the iPhone Pro will offer a larger, sharper sensor this time around, and perhaps the main wide-angle lens will go up to 64 megapixels.

The folks at Svelteapple say they are 80% sure that we are seeing the real deal with the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. having used the same design language for three years since the iPhone X, this would be a most welcome change.
