Disney Plus Bundle: How to Get Hulu Ad-Free

Disney Plus Bundle: How to Get Hulu Ad-Free

The Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus bundle cuts $5 off the total price (72% of the Disney Plus price). Disney does not advertise this, but similar bundles are available for ad-free Hulu and Hulu with Live TV.

The ad-free version of Hulu may be more expensive, but the marketing terms surrounding this deal make it appear that there is no savings from combining ad-free versions. Sure, this ad-free Hulu may have the same complaints as I do because it shows ads on some shows, but I'm paying for ad-free YouTube, so maybe I'm an outlier.

Lifehacker found an ad-free Hulu Disney Plus bundle. As long as you sign up for Disney Plus with the same email address you use for ad-free Hulu and ESPN Plus, Disney will give you a $5.99 (yes, $1 more) monthly credit as long as you subscribe to all their services. [Since ad-free Hulu is $11.99 and regular Hulu is $5.99 with ads, this can be seen as Disney essentially writing off the premium you pay to use ad-free Hulu.

Then there is the issue of live TV, which has all of the potential cord-cutters reeling. From the Disney Plus, ESPN, and Hulu bundle, there is no Hulu with Live TV to choose from. Fortunately, according to Decider, existing Hulu with Live TV subscribers will receive the same $5.99 discount as long as they use the same email address for registration.

See my Disney Plus review for my reasons for subscribing to Disney Plus, with or without the bundle.

Reasons to sign up for Disney Plus now include a fixed (untrimmed) version of The Simpsons, which heads into service at the end of May; Disney Family Singalong (after first airing on ABC) is also on Disney Plus just landed on Disney Plus.

Also set are release dates for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (August 2020), The Mandalorian season 2 (October 2020), and Wander Vision (December 2020).
