Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Leak reveals under-display camera to hit iphone 12

A teaser image of Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 was posted on the Galaxy Store.

SamMobile readers flagged a featured image in the "Samsung Rewards" section of the Galaxy Store that included a theme of an unannounced Samsung phone. Based on its proportions, it appears to be the Galaxy Note 20.

The image is not very clear, and while our unit is set up for the UK, we cannot corroborate it with our own Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. It is also likely that Samsung has withdrawn this theme from their store.

However, from what we can see, the unknown phone theme in the middle of the image indicates that the handset has a spacious display with no cutout hole for the front-facing camera. This could mean that Samsung has found a way to embed the selfie camera under the display, or it could be using a pop-up camera like the one seen on the OnePlus 7T Pro. This model has now been succeeded by the OnePlus 8 Pro, which has a punch-hole front-facing camera.

However, this theme could just be a mock-up designed as a replacement for the Note 20 until it is actually unveiled later this year. The conspicuous lack of buttons on the sides of the phone and the lack of an Infinity-O display are not consistent with other leaks and rumors. Most sources suggest that there will be more specs and camera upgrades than a major overhaul of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

Samsung may have decided to move the punch-hole camera to the upper left side of the Note 20, as the left side of the mystery phone is hidden by the Galaxy S10 Plus in the image. This would also seem odd, as the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra all inherit the design set by the Note 10, with the notch centered at the top edge of the display.

This mockup may just be a mockup with no solid basis in the final product design of the Galaxy Note 20. However, we would like to see Samsung push things further with the smartphone's design, and a nearly buttonless handset and under-display selfie camera may help the Note 20 in its upcoming battle with the iPhone 12.
