Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Leak reveals huge upgrade we wanted all along

According to leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, the successor to the first foldable smartphone will feature a number of improvements, including a larger front display and the camera system of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus.

Ross Young, founder of Display Supply Chain Consultant, released a series of specs for the Galaxy Fold 2 on Twitter on March 20, and Max Weinbach of XDA Developers has some details on Young's more about the Galaxy Fold 2, and gave us one of our best suggestions for how the next known foldable phone might be put together.

According to Young, the Galaxy Fold 2's front display will receive a much needed enhancement. In our review of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, we thought the small 4.6-inch preview screen limited the phone's versatility. The new display measures 6.23 inches and is as usable as the best larger phones when closed.

The Fold 2's internal display, on the other hand, spans 7.59 inches, larger than the original model's 7.3 inches. Also, if Young's leak is accurate, the Fold 2's expanded display will have a resolution of 2213 x 1689 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Based on Young's specs, Ben Geskin mocked up the Fold 2's appearance.

When asked about Young's reliability, Weinbach called the DSSC founder "a crazy good display analyst."

Weinbach piggybacked on Young's specs, answering several threaded questions and reminding him that the Fold 2 will be set up with an S20 Plus camera.

Young also said that more will be revealed next week about the Galaxy Fold 2's price and camera.

While rumors should be taken with a grain of salt this long after the official announcement, both Weinbach and Young's speculation is consistent with previous Galaxy Fold 2 leaks. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to debut in late summer along with the Galaxy Note 20.
