iPhone12Pro Max Video Reveals Apple's Radical Redesign

There have been massive leaks of the iPhone 12 Pro, telling how the larger Max version will surpass what Apple achieved with the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

This is all coming from YouTuber EverythingApplePro, who credits trusted leaker Max Weinbach as his source; Weinbach has been able to provide iPhone 12 Pro Max CAD files, although they were modified based on other information provided by his source.

A 3D printer mockup of the design allows us to see how the new iPhone 12 Pro Max compares to the previous model. iPhone 12 Pro Max is slightly thinner than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, with smaller bezels and larger display (6.7" instead of 6.5") with an increased width.

However, another specification is rumored as Apple is still working on the design. This second design has a shorter notch, but according to new information from Weinbach's sources, the design shown in the video is also smaller horizontally. These two designs also disagree on the curvature of the notch, with one resembling the notch on the current iPhone 11 and the other being sharper.

The camera bump now makes room for the LiDAR sensor, first seen on the iPad Pro 2020. This sensor will improve the performance of augmented reality apps and perhaps photography by providing better time-of-flight data. It is also similar to the iPad Pro in that the lens will be more embedded in the bump than the current iPhone 11 Pro and the back will appear smoother.

This side is flat, something not seen on the iPhone since the iPhone 5, but similar to that of the iPad Pro. Previous reports have said that the iPhone 12 Pro model will have these flat edges, while the standard iPhone 12 model will either have flat edges or curved edges like recent iPhones.

As for color, EverythingApplePro repeated the rumor that the iPhone 12 Pro model will come in a navy blue color option to replace midnight green.

The iPhone 12 is rumored to be Apple's first 5G iPhone, which is why the antenna band adorning the metal frame is also larger. Also, the SIM tray has been moved to the side, which is believed to be due to Apple's repositioning of the circuit board.

Newly added is a Smart Connector, similar to the one on the iPad Pro, which was previously the location of the SIM tray. This could mean an iPhone-compatible Apple Pencil (previously rumored to be on the iPhone 11) or other accessories never seen before. It could be a mini Magic Keyboard.

As for the bottom end, EverythingApple Pro reports that the iPhone 12 will have a larger speaker, a welcome change after several generations in which Apple has emphasized sound quality over volume. It is worth noting that the Lightning port remains, despite Apple's pressure to move to USB-C. Apple is rumored to be researching wireless-only charging for future iPhones, and there may even be an iPhone with no ports at all.

EverythingApplePro also stated that it will be creating a follow-up video in the next few days that will cover the iPhone 12's leaked features in more detail. If this information whetted your appetite, stay tuned for his next video.

According to other rumors of the iPhone 12, besides these many exterior changes, a 120Hz refresh rate display and an upgraded CPU in the form of an A14 Bionic chip are expected. in addition to the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, a smaller 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro model, and standard iPhone 12 models in 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch sizes are expected.

For all we know, this largest model of the iPhone 12 Pro Max may be delayed until October, but it is still likely that the iPhone 12 line will be available by the end of 2020.
