OnePlus8 Launch Event Live Stream: Reveal Now Here

It's time to see what OnePlus has planned for its next smartphones. Not that leaked information hasn't already painted a pretty complete picture of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which are scheduled to debut today (April 14).

OnePlus is about to begin its official launch event, where it will confirm how accurate the leaked information about the OnePlus 8 was. And the upstart handset maker may have a few surprises in store.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, cell phone launch events have been online-only lately, and the unveiling of the OnePlus 8 is no exception. Here's how to watch to see what OnePlus has in store and what we can expect from the launch event.

OnePlus plans to unveil the new phones on Tuesday, April 14. The official start time for the event is 11:00 a.m. ET/8:00 p.m. ET, or 4:00 p.m. ET if you are watching from Europe. However, the live stream is starting as early as possible.

OnePlus is planning multiple streams of the OnePlus 8 event, but the easiest way to watch is to head to the OnePlus 8 live stream on YouTube.

You can also watch the OnePlus 8 debut directly from the OnePlus website.

Two models are almost certain to be announced: the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro. The standard model is expected to have a screen of about 6.5 inches, while the Pro version will have a 6.7-inch display; major Android phones in 2020 are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is expected to be included in both models.

OnePlus has already confirmed several features ahead of the April 14 launch. For starters, OnePlus confirmed that the new phones will have 5G connectivity when determining the launch date. The company also promised a 120Hz refresh rate on at least one of the models launching this week (the current OnePlus flagship has a 90Hz screen). And wireless charging, long absent from the OnePlus 8 lineup, appears to be coming in at least the Pro version of the OnePlus 8.

As for the third phone, there are rumors that OnePlus is working on a stripped-down feature model known as the OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z. OnePlus is hoping that consumers will be willing to pay more for the standard OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro than for the OnePlus may be targeting a market where consumers are not willing to pay much for the standard OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro.

Finally, OnePlus usually announces some accessories at cell phone events. If wireless charging is indeed planned, expect a wireless charging pad to be announced along with the OnePlus 8. A new version of the OnePlus Bullets earphones (wireless or otherwise) could also be part of the OnePlus 8 launch event.
