Over the years, in numerous video blogs, the exotic claimed that Baskin had murdered her first husband, Don Lewis.

According to Nielsen, "Tiger King" was the biggest hit for Netflix since "Stranger Things." According to the ratings service, the docu-series was watched by 34.3 million unique viewers in the first 10 days of its release, surpassing Stranger Things season 2 and approaching season 3. Netflix does not release streaming numbers for "Tiger King" .

The seven-episode documentary follows Joe Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado Passage) and his extraordinary exploits at the Oklahoma Zoo, where he kept multiple tigers, lions, and other exotic animals. Tiger King also featured interviews with zoo employees, exotic campaign managers, business partner-turned-owner Jeff Lowe, and Baskin Netflix also released a Tiger King reunion special on April 12.
