The AirPods X will arrive in early fall, and Apple's Bose-killing over-ear headphones could be available as early as June.

Front Page Tech host Jon Prosser shared a series of tweets Tuesday morning (April 7) revealing what he believes are pricing and release dates for the AirPods X and Apple Over-Ear Headphones.

According to Prosser, the fitness-focused AirPods X will cost about $200 and will arrive in September or October. This price is comparable to Apple's newly discounted Powerbeats Pro, and the tentative release date falls around the likely time of Apple's iPhone 12 keynote.

The Apple Over-Ear Headphones are priced as high as $250 and could be revealed at this year's WWDC 2020, which is being held online. According to Prosser, these headphones will compete with the Bose 700 with active noise cancellation, which is our pick among the best headphones available today.

Over-ear wireless Apple headphones have been leaked in the developer version of iOS14, with a possible June release. We believed the icon supported the AirPods X leaked target product list, but Prosser's tweet suggests otherwise.

Apple has been pushing its new audio products under the Beats label for several years, but as the AirPods and AirPods Pro reach more ears, the company may be looking to shift brands and consolidate divisions.

Prosser has tweeted images of a 40% Beats sale available to current Apple employees, and non-employees can regularly find Beats products at significant discounts.

However, according to 9to5 Mac, Apple has no plans to phase out the Beats brand, which it acquired six years ago as part of a $3 billion acquisition.
