The Oppo Reno Ace 2 has been spotted on retail sites, revealing some key specs that could make it one of the best Android phones.

Combined with the recently leaked wireless charging pad, this could be a phone that poses a major threat to OnePlus and its upcoming OnePlus 8 series. It could also even offer a more affordable yet high-performance alternative to models like Samsung's Galaxy S20.

Rendered images of the Ace 2 were obtained from Chinese online retailer JD.com (via GSMArena), and the device will come in 8GB RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/256GB storage, and 12GB RAM/256GB storage options It has been revealed that it is available in two color options: black and blue.

According to a leak from Chinese certification site TENAA, the Ace 2 will have a punch hole display, 90Hz refresh rate, four rear cameras (48MP, 8MP, 2MP, 2MP), and a 16MP front camera.

Most uniquely, the Reno Ace 2 will feature 65W wired charging and 40W wired charging, making it potentially the fastest charging phone in the world today. [However, to support 40W wireless charging requires a special charger that exceeds the 10W Qi standard for common wireless chargers. To that end, we are told that news of the AirVOOC charger, a 40W compatible charger designed by Oppo, was found on the website of the Wireless Power Consortium, the industry group that oversees wireless charging devices.

We expect the Ace 2 to appear on April 13, the day before OnePlus announces the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 will be the company's first phone with wireless charging, but it is rumored to be 30W, not the 40W that Oppo uses. Rumors suggest that it will likely have the same internal specs as the Ace, including a Snapdragon 865 CPU and 5G support.

The only problem with the Reno Ace 2 is that it has yet to be confirmed that it will be sold anywhere outside of China like the original Reno Ace. With its class-leading features and reasonable price, one hopes that it will be sold abroad as a new challenger to Android phones.
