The OnePlus8Pro killer feature has been confirmed - and it will blow all Android phones away

OnePlus has revealed a wireless charger for the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro, a stand-like device that offers twice the power of the Galaxy S20 wireless charger.

In addition to the wireless charging stand for the OnePlus 8 Pro, screen protectors and transparent bumper cases for both OnePlus 8 models were also revealed.

At first glance, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless appears to be a very standard wireless charging stand with a chunkier, industrial design, much like the Pixel Stand wireless charger that debuted with the Pixel 3 XL.

What makes the OnePlus 8 Pro's wireless charging stand stand out, however, is its use of Warp Charge 30; with 30W of power, OnePlus' fast charging technology allows the wireless stand to use the 15W Qi-based wireless charging of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra's wireless charging capabilities, meaning that it outperforms the wireless charging capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

In fact, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless provides faster wireless charging than the 25W wired charger in the Galaxy S20 lineup. Samsung offers a faster 45W wired charger as an option.

OnePlus says its charging stations can charge the OnePlus 8 Pro from 1% to 50% battery capacity in about 30 minutes.

Since charging at such a rate can cause the phone to get quite warm, OnePlus claims to have employed an "isolated charging pump" to minimize the amount of electrical energy turned into heat while maintaining the OnePlus 8 Pro's charging efficiency at 97%. Combined with a wireless direct charge architecture using Warp Charge technology, which has been used in previous OnePlus phones, OnePlus claims that its wireless chargers are fast and stable.

For several generations, OnePlus has defended the lack of wireless charging in the phones that pursue its flagship. [But with the OnePlus 8 Pro, the company finally seems to have responded to feedback and found a way to make wireless charging as speedy as its impressive Warp Charge technology.
