Is the Galaxy S20 too expensive? This Samsung 5G phone will be much cheaper

If you can't afford the Samsung Galaxy S20 but want a 5G phone that uses many of the same Samsung features, the Galaxy A51 5G may be just what you are looking for.

SamMobile found the A51 5G's certification page on the WiFi Alliance website. Given that the regular A51 is priced at £329 ($404 equivalent), the A151 5G should be considerably cheaper than the Galaxy S20 (£899/$999)

Aside from working with the regular Wi-Fi standard, the A51 5G will also feature Android 10

. This will likely be wrapped in Samsung's One UI 2.0, as seen in the S20 series and updated Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 devices.

Based on the standard A51 launched in December 2019, the A51 5G will feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED FHD with the same Infinity-O central punch-hole display as the Note 10 and S20 series. 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with optional SD card expansion. The processor is Samsung's own Exynos 980 CPU with a 5G modem. [As for the camera, we can expect the same setup as the regular A51. On the back, there will be four sensors consisting of a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. Also on the front will be a 32 MP selfie camera.

The battery will be a 4,000mAh capacity model. Since this is an inexpensive phone, Samsung will retain the headphone jack alongside the USB-C charging port, and the fingerprint scanner will be optical rather than ultrasonic as used on the Galaxy S20. Unlike the standard A51, however, the frame of this model will be metal rather than plastic, likely giving it a more premium look.

Our Galaxy A50 review last year found that Samsung's mid-range phone offered impressive performance for its price, even if the battery and camera were not great. the A51 5G will be a solid successor for the price Likely.

However, there is competition for the inexpensive 5G throne. The recently revealed Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, due to arrive in May, will also be a reasonably priced 5G phone with suitably enviable specs.
