iPhone9 is called iPhone SE and may launch soon (update)

It looks like Apple is bringing back the iPhone SE in the form of a budget 4.7-inch smartphone, and look what Belkin screen protectors have appeared in the Apple Store.

We've been waiting for Apple to announce the rumored iPhone 9, but 9to5Mac has obtained some new information that suggests the entry-level iPhone will have an "SE" suffix instead. In addition, Belkin screen protectors labeled for the iPhone SE, iPhone 8, and iPhone 7 are still available online as of this writing, suggesting that the iPhone SE launch is imminent.

Update: The new iPhone SE was rumored to be available as early as today, but Apple has not made an announcement. We expect the device to launch sometime this month.

Of note, and this may be an Apple Store error, the Belkin InvisiGlass Ultra screen protector is compatible with the iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch display. Thus, this listing is certainly interesting and strongly suggests that a new 4.7-inch iPhone SE is about to be revealed.

Apple's first iPhone SE was released in March 2016 as a budget-friendly alternative to the iPhone 7, Apple's flagship smartphone at the time, with iOS.

At $399, the iPhone SE offered the specs of the iPhone 6S in the clean, compact frame of the iPhone 5, making it an attractive deal for iPhone fans without deep pockets.

The iPhone SE garnered a lot of attention but was discontinued in 2018. iPhone SE garnered a lot of attention but was discontinued in 2018, effectively replaced by the iPhone XR that year.

Currently, if you don't want to pay a lot of money for the iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro, the cheaper options are the iPhone XR or iPhone 8. The former is still quite expensive, while the latter is much older, both in design and specs.

That's why the new iPhone SE could be quite attractive: according to 9to5Mac, the iPhone SE will use Apple's A13 Bionic, one of Cupertino's more powerful chipsets, which is also found in the flagship iPhone 11 Pro Max also features it.

This means that the iPhone SE could be a very powerful yet compact iPhone. It is also expected to be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models, with a reasonable amount of storage capacity. For those who want a wide variety of options, there will also be five different cases available in white, black, and PRODUCT (red), as well as in black silicone, white silicone, red leather, black leather, and midnight blue leather.
