Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Video reveals the foldable phone we really want

The first Samsung Galaxy Fold was an exciting experiment, but one with very mixed results. The foldable phone attracted attention for its ability to transform from a phone to a tablet, but even after Samsung made several improvements, its durability remained questionable The $2,000 price tag did not help, either: it cost $3,000, and the phone was only available for $3,000, which was a fraction of the price of the Galaxy Fold 2, which cost $3,000.

The Galaxy Fold 2 gives Samsung a chance to prove that foldable phones are more than just a gimmick, and this new design, unveiled by YouTube's Concept Creator channel, is a lightning rod from Samsung's Galaxy Note 20. while also turning the rumors and leaks we've been hearing into reality.

As you can see in the "Galaxy Note Fold" video below, this Galaxy Fold 2 device features a huge 1440p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. And given that the Galaxy S20 has a 120Hz display, and the Note 20 should too, this certainly seems possible.

As SamMobile (which first reported this video) points out, the Galaxy Fold 2's main display could grow from 7.3" to 7.7". However, the panel in this video extends to an even larger 7.92 inches.

The front display should also be larger than the current Galaxy Fold's 4.6 inches. This concept video shows the panel taking up much of the front, but not all, at 5.38 inches. [The star of the show is the built-in S Pen, which allows users to write, draw, and take notes on the Galaxy Fold 2's display. Adding pen support would make better use of the larger canvas, especially for artists and mobile professionals. In this concept, the pen is taken out of the lower right end next to the USB-C port.

On the back, like the Galaxy S20 Ultra, there is a 108MP wide camera, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP telephoto lens. It also has dual front cameras when closed.

When the phone is unfolded, it features a single punch-hole camera in the upper left corner of the display, which is an improvement over the huge notch on the right side of the original Fold.

The display itself on this concept is "polycarbonate infused glass" and the folded portion is made of polycarbonate. This would be similar to the Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone in terms of materials.

Of course, this is just a concept. But if Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy Fold 2 in August alongside the Galaxy Note 20 (as has been rumored), a foldable phone with an S Pen could definitely steal the spotlight from the Note.
