According to Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn, the iPhone 12 will be ready for its scheduled fall debut.

During an investor conference call (via Bloomberg), Alex Yang, Foxconn's director of investor relations, explained that despite delays caused by the coronavirus outbreak, the company still believes it will meet its delivery date.

Foxconn, also known as Konohai Precision Industry, has been responsible for manufacturing iPhone devices since the first 2G model in 2007. The typical schedule for the new iPhone is prototyping in June, with mass production of the final product beginning in August. These stages have not yet begun because Apple's U.S.-based engineers are unable to travel to China to review the final designs.

Employees in China were the first to be affected by the virus infection and lost a lot of time in February. But now the situation in China is stable again, and Foxconn expects to have the iPhone 12 model ready by fall, or at least by the end of the year.

Bloomberg quotes Yang: "We and our customers' engineers are trying to make up the missing gap after losing a few days due to the travel ban. There is an opportunity and possibility to catch up. [But if there are further delays in the coming weeks and months, we will probably have to reconsider the launch date. It's still a possibility."

While we have heard many rumors and leaks regarding whether the iPhone 12 launch will be on schedule or delayed, this announcement carries a little more weight because it comes from the manufacturer itself.

The Pro version of the iPhone12 will have a display refresh rate of 120 Hz, along with Apple's first time-of-flight camera for the iPhone, at least according to rumors.

We typically see new iPhone releases every September, but the iPhone X also experienced a delay, launching in November 2017 instead. If potential delays do not worsen, this could happen with the iPhone 12.
