We've heard a lot about the OnePlus 8, rumored to launch in April. New official rendered images are giving us a better idea of what the OnePlus flagship smartphone will look like.

The rendered images are by phone leaker Roland Quandt, who shared them with German blog WinFuture.de. They are described as official renders and they show off the colors OnePlus is planning for its next phone. If accurate, expect a pretty eye-catching look for the various OnePlus 8 models.

In particular, a version called Interstellar Glow looks particularly attractive. The back is painted in a variety of colors, starting with a cool purplish hue and gradually transitioning to a cool orange. Reminiscent of a sunset, the coloring is the best looking we've seen on a cell phone in a while, at least in rendered images.

However, the green version of the OnePlus 8 is not to be overlooked. According to leaker Ishwan Agarwal, the color is called Glacial Green. It's a soft, minty color that will appeal to smartphone shoppers who prefer lighter shades.

Since the OnePlus 8 is still a smartphone, it will also be available in a black version. According to Agarwal, this model will be marketed as Onyx Black and will look much like other black smartphones.

Still, the Interstellar Glow and Glacial Green options are quite a contrast to other flagship smartphones, especially the Galaxy S20 lineup. Samsung played it pretty safe with the S20, offering new models in black, gray, and blue; a more colorful variation in the OnePlus 8 lineup could provide another way for OnePlus to distinguish its phones from other, perhaps more expensive phones.

Rumors suggest that the OnePlus 8 will arrive in mid-April; OnePlus is reportedly planning to roll out a 6.5-inch OnePlus 8 and a 6.78-inch OnePlus 8 Pro with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset. A lower-priced light version, reportedly called the OnePlus Z, may also appear later, albeit with inferior specs.
