The first OnePlus8Pro photos leak - and the Galaxy S20 should be worried

The OnePlus 8 Pro is here, and the photos are proof. This should be the first real challenger to Samsung's Galaxy S20 this year, and will probably be several hundred dollars cheaper.

The image, obtained by PC Tablet magazine, is an exact match to a composite rendered image of the OnePlus 8 that has leaked over the past few days.

While the back is very similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, the new model has undergone significant changes throughout. In addition to eliminating the pop-up camera and the infamous punch hole that has been so popular on recent Samsung Galaxy phones, the phone gets a gut revamp.

Perhaps most eye-catching is the OnePlus 8's new wireless charging system. This new technology will allow for 30W charging in both directions completely wirelessly. Samsung's Galaxy S20, the king of the Android hill, can only sustain 12W wireless charging with 5W wireless in the opposite direction, which looks weak compared to OnePlus' technology.

The $799 (allegedly) OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a 120Hz 6.5-inch AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB or 12GB RAM depending on model, and 128GB or 256GB storage, all with a 4,. 500mAh battery. On the back, there will be three cameras: 60-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 13-megapixel. The front would have a 32 megapixel camera.

Last but not least, the OnePlus 8 Pro should offer 5G connectivity, but we do not know which carriers in the US will sell the device.

Meanwhile, Samsung's Galaxy S20 has similar specs and starts at $999. To get Samsung's big screen, you'll have to jump up to the $1,199 Galaxy S20 Plus with a 6.7-inch panel.

We'll know all about it soon. Rumor has it that the OnePlus 8 Pro will arrive in April.
