Disney Plus UK Launch is Here — What You Need To Know

Attention UK and European Disney fans, here we come! Yes, the 133-day long gap between the U.S. release of Disney Plus and the U.K. and European releases has finally been closed.

People in the UK have only recently begun to evacuate (commonly referred to as lockdown) in place to try to stop the spread of COVID-19.

In the UK, as in the US, Disney Plus has a 7-day free trial for those who want to dip their toes in the water and check the depth of the Disney Plus library.

Disney Plus is priced in the UK at £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year, with a two-month discount on the latter annual subscription.

Going forward, Disney Plus has acquired many big-name movies and shows in addition to the recent live-action remakes that have landed on the service, such as The Lion King and Aladdin. The recent Pixar film Onward, which was released at a time when we were beginning to distance ourselves socially and isolate ourselves, is the next big thing:

One of the troubling aspects of the Disney Plus launch in Europe, according to Variety, is that Disney will be cutting bandwidth by 25%! ... This is due to the EU's request for restrictions on streaming video providers, as the limits of broadband are being tested by the flood of people streaming at home during the coronavirus outbreak.

To make matters worse, France will not have access to Disney Plus until April 7.
